Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Kendall C — 03 Aug 2015

I'd forgotten just how much of a masterpiece this truly was. Its good watching this now that I've matured more to understand what the movie's message is. Its not to glorify america by any means, its to show how terrible war really is and how America shouldn't be the police in the world no matter what the conflict is.

Ridley Scott's perfect direction captures the feeling and horrors of combat and the strength and will soldiers put themselves through to fight for something that they cannot logically explain. This is, without a doubt, the second best war movie ever made, behind Saving Private Ryan of course.
