Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Aaron A — 22 Jan 2011
Black Hawk Down tells the true story of the US Army's struggle to complete a mission after one of their choppers go down. Let me firstly say that the way how the action is captured on camera and all round cinematography is brilliant.
Also I like the way the action is uncompromising and pulls no punches. However I would say its easily 30 mins too long if not 60. Also the characters are very 2 dimensional and struggle to connect with the audience.
At around 2 hours I was actually get bored despite the amount the action and started to stop caring about the characters' struggle. In my opinion this is overrated and is far longer than it needs to be for its limited storyline and lack of progression.
