Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by James W — 27 Apr 2013
The amazing cast certainly elevate the movie as they bring their characters to life. This is a stunning portrait of war and how deep and dangerous it can get, and the character interactions and dialogue feel so realistic, there's a sense of depth here, and the action is bold and blistering.
There's plenty of shootouts and destruction but it's in there for a reason, not just for the sake of blowing stuff up, it is there to show how gritty war can get. As the Soldiers get deeper into the Somalia warzone, you eventually follow a certain, or favourite character, whom you want to survive.
This is a fantastic movie that features great camerawork that makes you feel part of the action.
