Black Hawk Down is a flawlessly directed film that is especially great when the actual events take hold of the story. The addition of pathetic and totally inappropriate cliches is the only thing holding this film back from a fiver.
I expect more from Ridley Scott...though that doesn't stop it from having some pretty awesome gun fights.
