Review of Black Dynamite (2009) by Tanner B — 12 Jul 2016
Black Dynamite ?? 1/2 C-84m. D: Scott Sanders. Super-cool black detective Black Dynamite uses his own breed of justice to take care of injustice. Deliberately spoofy exploitative exploitation of blaxploitation action films from the 1970s (say that 5 times fast!) has the similar look, the correct feel, and even the right sex of the genera, and it's very funny at times.
Gets a bit dry during the second half, but it's still enjoyable. Sanders also manages to maintain the same mood for the entire picture and never takes his material seriously.
