Review of Black Dynamite (2009) by James R — 14 Apr 2011
Bad Acting, Cheesy Dialogue, Laughable Plot, Ridiculous Script, Bad Delivery of Lines.
This would all normally add up to one bad movie, but for Black Dynamite, it all adds up to one brilliant film. Black Dynamite is a spoof of the 70s Blaxploitation films, and as such, acts like a true Blaxploitation by incorporating all of the above into the film.
Black Dynamite is a former CIA Agent, who gets back in the game once he finds out his only brother was murdered. The plot then continues on involving drug dealers and pumping drugs into orphanages, and the plot continues on from there. I wish I could tell you what the plot continues on into, but trust me, its better if you don't know, its better you find out by watching the film than me spoiling it for you. One thing I will say, prepare to laugh hard!
Black Dynamite is the typical ass kicking love machine you'd find in any blaxploitation film. He practises kung fu, he's skilled with a gun, calls people turkeys, he has an afro (even in flashbacks) and is a love machine, evident in one scene where two girls say "My momma said my father was called Black Dynamite".
Black Dynamite manages to get being a spoof right, and is only wrong on purpose. What are you waiting for, turkeys? Watch this brilliant spoof movie, and stick around for the credits, they too are hilarious.
