Review of Black Dynamite (2009) by Cameron J — 24 Apr 2011
The best way to describe Black Dynamite is a parody of a 1970's black action film, and my god did it make me laugh, from it's tacky chase scenes to it's really bad kung-fu and stupid cheesy dialouge that just makes you launch projectiles out of your nose as you snort at nearly every line. I also love all of the fight scenes, from the idiotic to the sublime it's all hilarious and the "bad guys" have such grin-worthy names such as "The Fiendish Mr Woo".
Okay the storyline is a little, well all over the place, it kinda get's lost around the halfway mark. It become ridiculous for better and worse. Such as the pimp scene, why does the director have to throw that in, it makes no sense and it's not got one laugh within it. It gets slightly irritating (The dialouge that is) with the repetition of such stereotypical terms as "Cracker" and "Moon Cricket". Though that is painted over by the speech of the mystery M&M's and his qualm over Orphans (I loved this bit).
Black Dynamite is Kung Fu adventure not the be enjoyed by the whole family cause this is gonna kick the shit out of your jaw, well it feels that way anyway.
