Review of Black Death (2010) by Brenton A — 20 Feb 2012
This was far darker and more intense than I was expecting. Black Death has a real message that it tries to deliver with great earnestness, and that effort is bolstered by two solid lead actors in Sean Bean and Eddie Redmayne.
But with an awkwardly tacked-on epilogue (including voiceover) and the occasional foray into "Wicker Man" territory, the film just lacked the sense of profundity that is required to deliver on such a lofty premise.
