Review of Black Dahlia (2006) by Tom G — 28 Mar 2009
Before watching this film I had heard nothing but negative press, so naturally I didn't expect to be blown away. The plot is very complex and there was obviously alot of material to try and streamline from the book to the film. The cast were very convincing portraying 40's cops etc making it very easy to get involved with the characters and their intersecting lives. Based on true events the film calls itself historical fiction, only using the original novel as a template, so comparisons with the book should be kept to a minimum.
I really enjoyed this film, an absorbing story well executed. Check it out and make up your own mind.
