Review of Black Dahlia (2006) by Matthew M — 18 May 2011
I think "The Black Dahlia" can be summed up in one shot sequence: the point of view shot when Josh Hartnett enters the house of his lover. It's pointless, visually creative, and rather strange.
It makes the action, and characters, take a back-seat to the cinematography, which is never a good thing. However, it's different, strangely refreshing, and almost feels complete. Apart from the rather pathetic ending.
