Review of Black Dahlia (2006) by Whoiam D — 03 Oct 2011
I liked it. Swank, Josh and Scarlett. Murder n mystery it was cool. I don't know what people expect out of movies and why they give them the ratings they do. Every movie isn't made to take your breath away or put you in deep contemplation or have you crying or laughing until you cry.
You have to stop expecting so much out of certain movies. I am not disappointed a lot because I know when I watch certain movies what that I am going to get a particular form of entertainment. Crap the reviews for the AFRICAN CATS were very good.
I am not saying it's not an interesting movie but it's about cats in a jungle. A human being took it upon himself to give them names and give them a story. It's interesting but its not as entertaining as watching humans.
If it was then we would have one movie this year about humans and 20 about cats! The point being our stories are way more interesting than animals and the many different ways they are told are even more interesting.
Don't get me wrong there are some really stupid movies out there (white chicks, harold & kumar doing any thing, soul plane etc) the four of those movies were equally stupid to me but there are many more in the idiot genre.
There are plenty of really good movies out there ( slumdog millionaire, malcom x, million dollar baby, the godfather etc). There are many many many more middle of the road movies I think that's where this movie falls.
I think people see big names and expect a huge dynamic movie but that's not always the case. They choose movies for fun sometimes, out of interest, for $ or the roles they can get. All mega stars didn't get that title because of talent either.
I mean I love Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez and they are A-listers but they aren't great actress's. Jolie n Bassett can act them under the table and out the door:).
