Review of Black Book (2006) by James H — 14 May 2008
Verhoevens best since The 4th Man, is purhaps his finest film. Melodrama that flows, boldly vulger without being campy, satiric about racial/social attitudes without being preachy, action packed in the tradition of his best hollywood films.
John Stahl, Douglas Sirk and Fassbinder taught you well.
