Review of Black Book (2006) by Sean C — 08 Nov 2008
This is Paul Verhoeven's first Dutch movie since going back from America. I was hoping it would be better and I did see some slight American-like trappings in the story. An example being the music score, which to me at times sounded like something from an action movie.
In the end, I was pleased because he chose to show that no matter how noble someone may appear at first, you never know what they're really like or what they will become. And we're talking about both Nazis and resistance fighters.
I would like to see the next movie that Verhoeven puts out.
