Review of Black Book (2006) by Alan G — 18 Dec 2008
Good movie with great performances. I especially appreciated how they showed the persecution that Jews still received while in hiding. It's almost like there was an attitude of "What the Nazis are doing is wrong, but it's sort of your guys' fault...".
My only complaint was how it seemed like more of an action-film in parts. Towards the end, it seemed to be chase scene after chase scene as we find out that so-and-so is a double agent... and so-and-so is as well! And lets not forget so-and-so! He's also working against the resistance! A concentration on the drama rather than the action would have been much more beneficial in many scenes. Still a great film.
