Review of Black Book (2006) by Gary K — 14 Feb 2009
I watched this movie for it's historical content. This movie brought to light the hardships of those that were persecuted during World War 2. My parents and their relatives were involved with the Dutch Underground during that time. Their stories were shared with guard. At a younger age, listening to what they had to say, I did not understand it as well as I do now.
From the stories of the past, I have also come to understand the hardships with this movie as well as the information that I read from a book by Anthony Cave Brown: Treason in the Blood, a historical account of the father and son team: St. John and Kim Philby.
We can thank all the strong and dedicated warriors known and unknown of the allied forces for what they have given for the sake of humanity and freedom. Let us not forget them, ever!!
