Review of Black Book (2006) by Tejal J — 31 May 2009
A resistance movie enfolded with poignancy, thrills and disbelief as a bold and reckless Jew woman working as a spy for The Resistance is involved in double play, negating her as a shameless traitor to her own country and fellowmen.
What does come forth glaringly is the root of deception, that leafs Germans and Jews both, regardless of color or race. Is treachery more justified in times of hardship? Are the lives of many ordinary collectively more imporant than a great hero of war? Is killing another to save oneself always a defense, not crime?
