Review of Black Book (2006) by Vicki S — 26 Jul 2009
More twists and turns than a washing machine on spin cycle, but for me it was delivered with dramatic shock value. A young Jewish woman joins the resistance in the hope of finding her families killers during World War II. She is plunged in deep with Nazis as she battles to fight to the last days before liberation. Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct & Hollow Man) directs a brilliant film which shows just how the war effected so many people and the great lengths that they would go to win, putting their lives on the line to save others.
Subtitled it may be but this was a great watch and one that I would recommend if you get the time! 4 stars.
