Review of Black Book (2006) by Phil E — 07 Dec 2009
An incredibly gripping and powerful piece from Paul Verhoeven. All aspects are above par. Carice van Houten is absolutely phenomenal and all other players likewise do a splendid job. The story is the real kicker.
It's been a long time since I've seen a contemporary war/spy film that refuses to relinquish my attention from beginning to end. Another well-deserved jewel in Verhoeven's crown.
