Review of Black Book (2006) by Janet F — 01 Feb 2010
A suspenseful Dutch film, having enough plot twists to make one dizzy, that looks at the end of WWII in Holland through the prism of the Dutch resistance. This engaging, thoughtful movie challenges viewers constantly in determining what characters are "good" or "bad.
" Black Book will keep you at the edge of your seat and make you think for a while afterward. It's perspective on the familiar topic of WWII is so uniquely un-American that it's likely you've never seen anything like it before.
Filmed with Dutch sensibilities regarding nudity and graphic sexuality.
