I am a huge fan of blaxploitation, and this is probably my favorite of them all. Jim Kelly is my hero: a smooth talking lady's man with an afro that is always perfectly in place. Gloria Hendry kicks an equal amount of ass as his love interest and partner in whoop ass.
The stock bad guys, hilarious, over-the-top mafiosa and jive-talking ghetto thugs, keep the laughs coming. The cast is rounded out by a variety of 70s black actors from TV and blaxploitation films. If you share the same love of 70s blaxploitation that Tarantino and I share, then you will absolutely dig it.
I watch this film all the time. It never ceases to bring a smile to my face. Tarantino needs to bring Jim Kelly back to the screen for the younger generation.
