Review of Black (2005) by Santosh D — 14 May 2008
The closest Bollywood will ever get to an Oscar- it was a shame how it was not let into Oscars because it was an adaptation- every movie has some inspiration or other- but this movie transforsm that inspiration to such a whole new level.
The performance of the lifetime for both Amitabh and Rani- the cinematography was so unworldly only Sanjay Leela can do that. And especially the wonderful work of the childhood counterpart of Rani and the woman who played the role of Rani's mother is beyond perfection.
Probably the best Bollywood movie ever.
