Review of Black (2005) by Angelina C — 21 Jul 2012
By the standards of the most authentic dramas, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black is a bonafide farce. It's carved from the plainest wood and covered in the most garish ornaments; it's ugly and obnoxious; it's plastic to its core, a movie whose manipulative nature demeans the essence of cinema; it's a movie Sandra Bullock could star in; it's The Blind Side and Paul Haggis' Crash.
It's reviling.
