Review of Biutiful (2010) by Patrick L — 30 May 2011
Now this was a good movie. Inarritu does a great job once again, and seeing Javier Bardem(No Country for Old Men) in this dramatic role is great. This movie shows the known Bardem in a role that really has not been seen by the mass public. Its somewhat sad that this movie is only in Spanish with English subtitles, because there are alot of people who do not like subtitles and are going to miss this great movie.
Bardem is a single father who is raising his two children by subjecting himself into illegal activity to support his family. Bardem finds out he is dying and throughout the remainder of the movie he is trying his best to make things right with the people he loves as well as the people he has in his life. This film has heart, and it shows it, which is a very uncomon thing.
