Review of Bitter Harvest (2017) by Deke P — 01 Mar 2017
I saw it this afternoon.
About the "Holodomor":
The Russian Soviet communist deliberate starvation of 7-10 MILLION Ukrainians (mostly Christians).
Movies such as this give us some idea of the reality behind what otherwise seems like an exaggerated abstraction best no longer remembered.
Ukrainians were considered enemies of the people and stood in the way of the Russians aspirations for total control.
They and other "captive nations" long remained under the boot of Russian tyranny --and have every reason to fear its re-imposition today.
Some today say we should supinely abandon them.
And that Russia will have no further "territorial demands".
This movie is not approved by "Russia today" Sputnik magazine online, and other such propaganda organs.
Ukrainians today who resist are vilified now just as they were then.
It is important to support important movies and this is one.
I am encouraging everyone to support it now when has just come out.
If not now then it will soon only be available on DVD.
