Review of Birthday Girl (2001) by Ws W — 06 Dec 2009
There were parts supposed to be noir, even funny but turned out to be quite offbeat instead. Vincent Cassel & Mathieu Kassovitz are good contemporary French actors but apparently couldn't fit in in this one, Kassovitz in particular.
Ben Chaplin, though, was good being a middle-aged duffy; whilst Nicole Kidman began trying to seriously act back then.
