Review of Birth (2004) by Michael B — 01 Aug 2007
I like this film more every time I see it (which hasn't been that often, I'm sure I'll do it again). Sure the subject matter feels pretty awkward and this is 'aloof Nicole' (it's not a warm film by any means).
But the simple and elegant way it is shot and the way the director frames the central performances nears perfection. Feels like the sort of film Kubrick should have been making instead of Eyes Wide Shut.
