Review of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) by Richard S — 11 Sep 2015
I was really looking forward to this considering the buzz that it produced at the awards ceremonies as well as many great reviews but I just didn't see what all the fuss was about. I found it quite boring.
I know what the film is trying to set out to do but it just didn't work for me, I didn't find it compelling at all. When I look back over the director's previous movies, maybe he's just not the director for me.
The first film I saw of his was Amores Perros which I thought was brilliant. However, since then, 21 Grams, Babel and Biutiful have all been somewhat underwhelming, as was Birdman :o(.
