Review of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) by Will L — 28 Apr 2016
This an actors' film in the best sense. The performances of every actor are magnificent, the dialogue is sharp and witty, and the story features some jarring, and often humorous, visual tangents that reaffirm the film's lofty artistic ambitions.
These things, paired with a one-of-a-kind shooting style, combine to make what is not only the best film of the year, but a new addition to my personal favorites.
