Review of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) by Oliver N — 05 Nov 2016
While certainly not for everyone, Birdman (or the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) genuinely deserves it's 7 Oscars more than most, through a compelling story, masterful editing (the 'one-shot' effect was pure cinema) and very strong performances, specifically from Keaton whose was career-defining. The wacky, crazy, fluorescent feel was flawless and one thing Hollywood lacks nowadays; originality and cinema to its finest.
Verdict: A+.
