Review of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) by Cadel K — 05 Aug 2015
This film seems to have everything, from well acted, well developed characters to biting commentary on the state of filmmaking to stunning cinematography while on top of all that being hilariously self-referential in its casting choices.
Keaton and Riggan both used to play superheroes but were largely forgotten afterwards. Norton and Shiner both are notorious for trying to take over the directing of the scenes they are in. All in all, well deserving of the Academy Award for Best Picture that it won.
