Review of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) by Jamesl — 09 Nov 2014
I have seen everyone of the director's films and this just does not live up to the hype. The acting is great but I cannot tell you why it is so highly rate or what the point of the film was. The obvious point was for Keaton be a successful actor on the stage but there are numerous other currents running through the film.
Most of them are left unexplored and the illusory effects of Keaton losing his clarity only come to play near the end.. The film left me speechless because it is so overrated. It is this year's "Inside Llewellyn Davis".
