Review of Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010) by Cameron J — 27 May 2015
Why "Shock and Terror"? Why not "Birdemic: Shock and Caw"? Man, this movie's so bad, why not go with the corny title? What the movie fails to realize is that even not trying requires some effort if you're gonna make an intentionally bad movie, if that is, in fact, their intention.
Otherwise, you get a poor quality waste like "Birdemic: Sock and Terror", which I would say leans more towards the amateur film category than independent film category were it not for the fact that I would be insulting amateur filmmakers.
The movie suffers from overdevelopment, dragging, poor sound quality, choppy storyline editing, impossibly awful footage editing, a bad soundtrack with poor placement, cliches, awe-inspiringly atrocious visual effects, terrible writing, unbelievable character behavior, a forced resolution, a cop-out ending and acting that left me waiting for the big art house, not-so-happy ending where our heroes are finally slaine by a surprise swarm of woodpeckers.
Really, all I can say about "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" is that it is of such poor quality that it's offensive to the art of filmmaking and those who put effort into it.
