Review of Bird Box (2018) by Avodeskorm — 29 Dec 2018
This movie is a POS. People are calling it a rip-off of A Quiet Place, but really this is just a horrendous imitation of Frank Darabont's film adaption of Stephen King's The Mist. (And so many other things) Nothing is subtle in this film, everything is repeatedly smashed into your face and requires little thought from the audience. The acting is so annoying and was trying so hard to give an emotional weight to the story, that it just fails as a result.
The art of filmmaking has become the art of an extended full-length filler television episode, nowadays. Bird Box is just showing that by refusing to challenge its audience and as a result showcases its ability to just settle into generic mediocrity.
