Ang Lee is one of the most inspiring and original directors working in cinema today. He can bring heart and soul to a wide variety of subjects. His latest film though is not one of his best. The true story of a group of Iraqi war heroes upon their return to the US just never really gets off the ground.
It feels a little straight and stiff to connect emotionally. Performances are OK but the script lacks dynamism and oomph, leaving a rather tepid film.
