This was not a straightforward concert movie, which could have been done considering the talent that performed in this show. It was a rambling story about not only the venue, but Billy Joel, the New York Mets and New York City.
I can see that being a turnoff to some people who wanted to watch the last concerts at Shea... But knowing the venue, knowing the location, knowing the performers and seeing it all linked together through the film, it just made this a grandly enjoyable documentary for me.
