Review of Billy Jack (1971) by Lisa K — 16 Mar 2009
Never heard of Billy Jack? Neither had I, until I found I had accidentally taped it at the end of another movie I'd been interested in. It was amazing! It may be an older movie, and the production is very indie, but it was pretty cool.
While it was considered very violent when it came out, the violence is nothing by today's standards. The story is really about acceptance, tolerance, and peace. It came out in a time when there was a strong pro-American Indian movement, so this movie does speak to that.
If you've never seen it, it's worth watching once.
