The weirdest thing about this movie is that, despite its meandering plot and dated clap-trap messages, I found it quite charming. I think we all secretly want to be Billy Jack: so capable of kicking ass and backing up fightin' words but usually far too wise to do so, except when things really get out-of-hand.
Native American exploitation? Hippie Western? Political drama? An exploration of true grit? All of this and probably more!
