Review of Billy Elliot (2000) by Giannis G — 02 Nov 2008
The best of its 'working class Northerners' genre, Billy Elliot doesn't have enough set-up, some characters are underused and it is too melodramatic, but it is enjoyable, often funny and touching and Jamie Bell as Billy, a boy in the midst of the 80s miners' strikes who wants to be a ballet dancer, is excellent.
