Review of Billy Elliot (2000) by First L — 16 Nov 2008
This film is just plain excellent. It has it all: good acting, an underdog, a labor struggle, family turmoil, sentimentality, and a great lead character. When I first rented this, I thought it would be some sucky kid's movie about dancing, but it's much more than that. If you watch it a few times, you'll even pick up a few good lines to help make you popular around your friends, like "don't lose your blob" and "POST".
I'm not a poof. Great, just great.
