Review of Billy Elliot (2000) by Tria W — 11 Mar 2010
A very well done movie. It sticks to what it sets out to do the entire way through and succeeds. I always saw trailers and other clips from the movie but have never seen it until now. It is inspirational but always feels real.
Every scene is set out to set a purpose and many times is left to viewer to understand rather than spelling it all out. They treat homosexuality well in this film because obviously Billy Elliot would have to deal with it even though he himself is not.
It is serious at times but also has fun too. The emotions in acting seem almost as if they are playing through themselves and it really works. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie.
