Review of Billy Elliot (2000) by Hannah D — 18 Mar 2010
I've usually given this film a wide berth when it's been on the TV, thinking it wouldn't appeal because it's about dancing, which I find boring, but thankfully it wasn't all about the ballet.
It is also a very gritty drama set during the 1980s miners' strike in the industrial north east. I was shocked by the really choice language that came out of Billy's, as well as the other characters', mouth, though, as I thought it was a children's film.
How wrong was I?!
