Very enjoyable, fantastic work by Jamie Bell. Gary Lewis is great as Billy's father, and Julie Walters is solid as Mrs. Wilkinson who teaches Billy ballet. The soundtrack of mostly T. Rex is awesome, throw in the Clash, Paul Weller (The Jam AND The Style Council) and boom.
Set against the backdrop of a Miner's strike in the Black Country UK 1984 and a boy who doesn't want to box, and innocently enough ends up in ballet. Great story of acceptance and love overcoming obstacles.
Well worth watching.
