As someone who can't take a good photo to save myself, or create a decent ensemble from my conservative wardrobe, I am in awe of Bill Cunningham's talent and the sartorial bravado of his subjects.
Cunningham proves to not only have a great eye for detail, but an inexhaustible source of positive energy and an impeccable set of ethics. Clearly he prefers being behind the camera, and the few times he is the centre of attention here, he becomes remarkably uncomfortable.
Otherwise, this is a hugely uplifting experience. As Bill says, he who seeks beauty will find it.
