Review of Bill Cunningham New York (2011) by Oren S — 04 Jan 2012
What a fascinating subject! This portrait doc lacks any danger or tension for the most part (except for a tangent about the city kicking out tenants from Carnegie Hall), but it more than makes up for it in the sheer glee, love, and devotion to his lifestyle that Bill Cunningham demonstrates.
Filled with a cast of really fascinating characters, the film encompasses Bill's career but also provides a really in-depth look at his life and personality. Great stuff!
