Review of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) by Bob S — 07 Feb 2012
For numerous reasons, I had somehow avoided watching the film for 20 years and I could have avoided it for 20 more. There was nothing distinguishing about the film other than the valley boy stigma that has unfortunately followed Reeves through his career.
The acting, screenwriting, direction and special effects are all poor. Even the weak attempt to educate potheads and high school dropouts on historical events fails. The trips (no pun intended) into the past only briefly introduce certain historic figures to the point you can't even begin to understand their importance.
And, if this movie wasn't bogus enough already, they went ahead and made a sequel.
