There is nothing wrong with a little mindless fun especially with two party slackers Bill and Ted. When they are doomed to fail their history class, a stranger by the name of Rufus arrives from the future to help them pass their class using a time machine that looks like a regular payphone.
It is then that Bill and Ted go back in time to collect historical figures to help pass their class or suffer a future like no other. No way!
