An iconic piece of '80s cinema that doesn't quite live up to its cult classic status, though this 'Dr.Who'-type fantasy will no doubt win over its target audience. There's some wonderful gags here but leaves the viewer wanting a little more than what's on offer.
The saving grace, and no doubt reason behind its enduring quality, are leads Alex Winter and especially Keanu Reeves, our two likeable, goofy adolescent time travellers whose initial knowledge on history is that Napoleon was 'a short, dead dude.
