Bill & Ted are killed by their robot duplicates sent by an evil mastermind in the future but enlist the aid of Death and alien scientists to return from the grave save the babes. I loved Bill & Ted back in the day and this deliberately ridiculous sequel is full of the same mix of bonehead humour and knowing parody of popular culture.

Reeves and Winter are as likeable as ever as the heroic dimwits, but this film belongs to William Sadler's Seventh Seal style grim reaper and every moment he's on the screen is comedy gold. It's pretty much the usual teen humour you'd expect but the time travel spin and escapades in Heaven and Hell give plenty of room for a slew of funny gags and the whole thing is still a lot of fun.

If you were never into metal as a teen it may go over (or probably more accurately, under) your head, but it's one of the few examples of comedy that's very much of its time that has also stood the test of it.
