Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991).

Chris Metheson and Ed Solomon's bodacious sequel to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), where William S. Preston (Alex Winter) and Ted Logan (Keanu Reaves) traveled through time. In this movie, they're now traveling through the after-life and even heaven and hell.

The movie starts out in the future where Rufus (George Carlin) is teaching a class and is interrupted by the evil Chuck De Nomolos (Joss Ackland) and his henchmen. De Nomolos is tired of the whole peace-loving utopia brought on by Bill & Ted's influence and has built some robot Bill and Teds to travel back into the past and kill our heros and thus, alter the future a little closer to his designs. Holy, Terminator!

Death is not the end of Bill and Ted and they challenge the Grim Reaper Dude (William Sadler) to various games of chance and skill and must journey to various planes of heaven and hell to get back to Ms. Wardroe's (Pam Grier) battle of the bands in San Dimus and destroy the Evil Bill and Teds, rescue their girlfriends, and save the future.

Like in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, the entire movie plays in good-natured fun and doesn't hesitate to laugh at itself and its core characters. There's one scene where the ghost of Ted goes into the body of his father, Police Captain Logan (Hal Landon Jr.) and the actor does a humorous impression of the Keanu Reaves character.
