Review of Bigger Than the Sky (2005) by Barryd. — 25 Nov 2006
In a lifetime of working in theatre, film and television (writer-director-producer) as well as working as a television critic for trade paper Radio-TV Daily in the late 1950's, this is certainly the most dishonest and stupid little film you could possibly imagine.
How it got financed is beyond me. The idea of a total amateur being cast as the lead in Cyrano would have had the entire cast in open revolt. If it had all been part of some dream sequence cooked up in the brain of a shy young man, but other than that it's a total loser.
It's sweet that certain viewers may have enjoyed (to some degree) its attempt at sweetness and lovey-dovey backstage views, but it's all an insult to the actual craft and people involved.
